Legal & General Retirement America Awarded Great Place to Work Certification for Third Consecutive Year

Legal & General Retirement America (LGRA) has been certified as a Great Place to Work for the third consecutive year as of June 2024.

Around 76% of LGRA employees completed the program’s patented Trust Index Survey, which covers a variety of factors that speak to the overall workplace experience. Highlights from the survey include:

  • 90% percent believe management promotes inclusive behavior
  • 88% percent enjoy working with their colleagues and feel they can be themselves and get the support they need from each other
  • 86% percent believe that managers show an interest in their wellbeing by providing a safe and healthy working environment

At LGRA, we believe that creating a safe and positive environment for our employees is fundamental to the success of both the individuals and the company. We accomplish this by providing our team with a range of benefits that support their needs both in and out of the workplace.

Work-life balance

To promote an innovative and balanced workplace, we offer a variety of work-life balance initiatives for our employees. At LGRA, we offer a hybrid working model that combines the advantages of in-person collaboration with the flexibility of remote work. We strive to create various virtual events to ensure inclusiveness for remote workers, enabling everyone to participate, build relationships and collaborate in groups.

With mental health awareness as a priority within our organization, we are committed to providing every member of LGRA with well-being initiatives, including access to the Unmind app, BurnAlong program, and telehealth services. Through offering these resources, we aim to ensure that everyone has ease of access to prioritize their mental health.

Recognizing the importance of career development, we offer tuition reimbursement for those seeking to advance their education and grow in their career. As well, we encourage participation in educational programs that support employees in their current role to set them up for future success.

DE&I initiatives

Our commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) is a crucial part of our culture. Our employee led council ensures that we recognize and celebrate inclusive holidays such as Pride Month, Black History Month, National Hispanic Heritage Month, and more. Within the council, we have designated roles for individuals to manage different responsibilities, as well as a sounding board to guarantee that all voices are heard. This structure allows for collaborative discussions and contributes to the success of the DE&I initiative in our organization. Additionally, we provide a wellness room in our offices for nursing mothers and those seeking a quiet space to reflect or recharge throughout the day.

We also implement voice surveys to allow colleagues to share their perspective in efforts to promote a positive feedback environment. These initiatives are designed to ensure that individuals from different backgrounds feel welcome and empowered in the workplace.

“I’m incredibly proud of the team at LGRA for being certified as a Great Place to Work for the third year in a row. This achievement is a testament to the strides we have made as an organization to create and maintain an inclusive, supportive, and fulfilling workplace where our employees can bring their best selves to work each day,” said Sandy Simpson, VP, Head of HR at Legal & General Retirement America.

Social initiatives

Employee engagement and collaboration stay at the forefront of our priorities. To support these initiatives, we organize regular town halls and coffee chats with our Senior Leadership Team (SLT), enabling every member of our team to connect with our leaders more closely and learn about the different aspects of the organization. We continuously plan events that celebrate company milestones and host charity drives that allow us to give back to the communities we work and live in.

We also host an annual company offsite, where we provide updates on our organization’s business, charity, and DE&I initiatives, share valuable highlights, and celebrate our achievements together. The offsite is filled with relationship building activities and exercises aimed to create and nurture both new and existing connections among colleagues.
